Kleinwort Benson Bank

The starting point for this art programme was the building itself and the marrying of historic architecture with the new-build. We were keen to encapsulate a spirit of historical precedence with a contemporary attitude through the artwork. Simon Casson’s painting in reception denotes this perfectly. He reinterprets high renaissance and baroque paintings for a contemporary audience employing a distinctive layering technique. Along the same theme, but in juxtaposition to Casson, are Claire’s tranquil meditative panels, constructed using modifications on traditional gilding techniques, utilising 23ct gold leaf, gold alloys and silver leaf.
